Danaco Solutions

Client:
Danaco Solutions
Brief:
Produce supply chain management extranet.
Technologies:
PHP, MySQL, Zend Framework and MooTools.Project Details:
Danaco Solutions is a produce supply chain procurement and management firm specializing in end-to-end risk management for the food service industry. They needed a tool to help them manage changing prices in the produce market. I developed a system that gives suppliers the ability to make price changed requests based on their contracts with the customer. These requests can be monitored and approved or declined either by Danaco, the customer or both.
The system also has functionality for tracking and reporting on historic pricing, maintaining product specifications, giving updates and postings on crop conditions to suppliers and customers, managing supplier documentation to make sure all suppliers meet the requirements put forth by Danaco and the customers, tracking product attributes and rejection of raw materials.

Murvin & Meier

Client:
Murvin & Meier
Brief:
Financial document managment.
Technologies
PHP, MySQL, Prototype and Scriptaculous.Project Details:
Murvin and Meier needed a system to allow their clients and financial advisors to have access to various documents and reports about how their investments are performing. Before the current system, all of the reports had to be printed and mailed out, which took a lot of time and money. Now, it is all done electronically and takes significantly less time. Murvin and Meir has an existing in-house software that generates reports using specific a naming convention. Their new system uses the naming convention to add the files to the correct places on the site making updating the site as simple as an ftp upload.
Clients are able to login and view and/or download up to 24 months worth of past documents for every account they have with Murvin and Meier. Advisors can do the same, except they are able to see all accounts for any clients they advise. They also have the additional ability to download groups of documents, for example, all reports made in March 2009 for all clients.

Client:
Market Financial Group
Brief:
Insurance Company website with a CMS
Technologies
PHP, MySQL, MooTools and FrogCMS.Project Details:
Market Financial Group's website was out-dated and difficult for them to update. They came to me for a new design and an easy-to-use content management system so they can keep content updated. I contracted with a designer to get the design. From there, I sliced it up and put it into FrogCMS. I added a few items that they requested for their site that were not already part of FrogCMS, such as testimonials and Industry News RSS feed, on the left side of certain pages. The site also includes a simple contact form that sends Market Financial Group an email and a basic flash image rotator for the logos of companies they work with.

Jane Boyd

Client:
Jane Boyd Community House
Brief:
A new website to replace their very outdated one.
Technologies
HTML, CSS and JavascriptProject Details:
I was approached by a staff member from the Jane Boyd Community House in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to help make a new website. As a non-profit agency, Jane Boyd did not have the money in their budget to create a new website, so I took this job on Pro bono. I found a designer that was willing to volunteer his time to make the design. I took his work and built it out into a website. The biggest challenge was that the server they are hosted on does not have any server side languages installed, which meant no CMS. They also use FrontPage in-house to update the site. Working under those constraints, I successfully built the site in such a way that they would be able to easily update the pages with FrontPage.
